MONOETHYLENE GLYCOL
It is a colourless liquid, odourless, syrupy with a sweetish aftertaste. It mixes with water, alcohols and many other organic compounds. It is used in antifreeze fluids for engine radiators, antifreeze agent and in refrigeration systems as an intermediate agent. It is also used in the production of polyester resins, alkyd synthetic fibres, as well as solvents, plasticisers and explosives. It is used as a gas drying agent, as a plasticiser, as a cleaning agent, in the production of paper, adhesives, printing inks, leather and cellophane.
